How do I buy a crane on CranesList?

The short answer is you contact us. If we are listing a crane you are interested in we will answer any questions and work with you and the buyer to bring about a successful transaction. Why should I buy a crane on CranesList?

We strive to work out crane sales that are beneficial to all parties. Crane sales are complex and we have the experience to bring them to a successful conclusion.

Is Craneslist a Broker or A Seller?

CranesList acts as an broker/agent between the seller and the buyer. The final transaction is between the crane owner and the buyer. In this way we are like Real Estate agent. However we are different in that we try to represent the interest of both parties rather than just one. 

Is the Information on the site accurate?

The owners of the crane being sold provide the marketing information shown in our advertisements. It is important that before purchasing a crane that the buyer arrange for their own inspection of the crane ensure that it meets their requirements.

Do I work with the Seller or with CranesList?

Buyers will be working with CranesList up until the point of the sale.

Are prices negotiable?

We will present any reasonable offer to the seller. It is up to the seller whether or not to accept. But similar to Real Estate, in many cases cranes finally sell for below the asking price. Also deals are sometimes tailored around conditions that may affect the final price. 

How are purchased cranes delivered?

The buyer is typically responsible for receiving the crane at the time of purchase and providing the necessary transportation get it to where it's needed. We often work with buyers to work out the logistics of the transportation post sale.

Are your cranes available for Rent?

Some cranes are marked as being available for rental. If you have a need to rent a crane that doesn't show that it is rentable, let us know. We can discuss your need with the buyer and see if they might be willing.

What happens if I am not satisfied with my purchase?

Because the crane is is being sold directly by the previous owner it would be up to them to address this. Warranty might be able to be negotiated before sale if this is important. But the best way to ensure satisfaction is to have the equipment inspected by a knowledgable Crane Inspector and a knowledgable Crane Mechanic.

Do Cranes come with operation Manuals?

Whatever the seller has available is typically provided as part of the sale. We try to provide downloadable versions manuals and specifications in our listings.

Do you offer financing?

Not directly but we do work with companies that have crane financing expertise.

Can you help me if the crane I am looking for isn't on CranesList

Absolutely. We work with many crane vendors and have a broad view of available inventory. We also may know of someone that has the crane you are looking for that might like to hear an offer. We want to help buyers find the crane they are looking for. Even if it isn't listed on our site. If we don't sell one of ours now perhaps we will the next time you need a crane or you will use us to sell your crane in the future.

Can I inspect the Crane?

We pretty much insist on this. If you want to visually inspect or perform a formal inspection contact us and we will coordinate this with you and they buyer.

Do you charge the buyer any fees to buy the crane or complete the transaction?

No we earn our money through charging the seller an agreed upon percentage of the final sale price.

What do you offer besides cranes and crane equipment.

Cranes are our entire focus. We try to do one thing really well.
